Inventors at Harvard University have developed a new technology called Femtosecond Laser Oscillator (FLO), which allows for lasers to directly write three dimensional patterns onto bulk materials, such as glass. The laser directs unamplified, intense, ultra-short pulses of light at very high rates to a single point on a material.
